- Input signal that outputs the hyperbolic tangent function [tanh(x)] for that signal
- Circuit traditionally used to shape a triangle wave to a sine, can be used with more complex signals to behave as a single knob limiter
- Limiter/distortion circuit that is sonically similar to compression but achieved through wave shaping as opposed to gain reduction (great with percussive sounds!)
