The 3rd generation of our venerable Depth Charge Gamelan has arrived!

It all started as a real estate issue: how many buttons, piezos, springs, and outputs can one possibly cram into a small ABS project box? Then an idea arose - simply ADD a second box! Voila.

The DCG3 consists of two boxes. The main box is the is the actual shaker device, housing springs, rattles, and two control switches. One switch is an on/off/on position rocker, which controls the both shaker box sound as well as an auxiliary second sound source. The second switch is a momentary on/off switch, allowing one to add mad glitch / cut up styles to the sound.

A smaller junction box is connected to the shaker via instrument cable. This unit consists of one quarter inch output and a second quarter inch input for an additional sound source to be inputted and controlled via the main box. The cable runs approximately five feet in length, providing enough distance from the gear table so that one can really shake out their frustration.

This is NOISE device, pure and simple. It's raw, dirty, and has signal-bleed. It works best in combination with high volume, rows of distortion pedals, and lots of thrashing around. The rocker switch is designed for automotive use, so it should theoretically be able to handle all sizes of thumbs, gums, and trigger fingers.
