We have added a second session of our first DIY electronics assembly workshop!

Do you want to dive into the world of DIY kit building, learn the basics of soldering and other electronics assembly tools, how to identify synthesizer components, and what to look for when someone puts a circuit board in your hand?

Led by electronics expert Christopher Puidokas, this class aims to provide foundational knowledge to beginners wishing to develop their skills to work with electronics. It will cover subjects such as proper tool selection and usage, basic part recognition, soldering, establishing a technical mindset, safety, and standard kit assembly.

In this workshop, each participant will be guided through the preparation, assembly, calibration, and trouble-shooting of a Eurorack module build. For this session, we'll be working through the Random*Source NCOM, Serge Divide by N Comparator module. NCOM is a rare, much sought-after and very essential Serge module covering a number of functions: comparator, voltage-controlled pulse divider, and voltage-controlled staircase generator.

The goal of the class is to have every participant leave confidant in their ability to solder, and critically go through the process of organizing and assembling a DIY project.

The cost of the class includes the random*source NCOM kit, materials and instruction. The class will take place on Saturday, December 15th from 10am-2pm at Control, 416 Lorimer St. #1L, Brooklyn, NY 11206.

About your instructor:
Christopher Puidokas has over 15 years experience in electronics repair and assembly. Over the years he has held positions as an independent studio tech, an assembly technician with companies such as Eisen Audio and Verbos Electronics, and as a synth repair technician at The Analog Lab. He currently splits his time between Death By Audio and as a freelancer in synth repair.
